Obituary
Carl F. Lindstedt, Jr., 93, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Born October 14, 1931, in Rockford, the son of Carl F. and Elsie M. (Johnson) Lindstedt. Attended East High School. Veteran of the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean War. Carl married Mattie E. Cox on December 15, 1957. She predeceased him on May 26, 2009. He worked for National Glass and Cardinal Glass retiring in 1993. Carl made many friendships through work with co-workers. Walt Hultgren was one he knew most of his life. Carl was proud of his Swedish heritage. His father was the third of nine children that was the only one to live in America. Carl loved to go to Tunica, MS, and sports teams, Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Illinois.
Survived by his daughters, Kathy (Jim) Bogdonas of Rockford and Carolyn (Dean) Weil of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Kate (Ryan) Cavanaugh, Lynn (Drew) Witte, Andrea Bogdonas, Nick (Erin) Bogdonas and Scott (Courtney) Weil; great-grandchildren, Owen, Finn & Jack Cavanaugh and Cash, Bodie & Louie Witte; and his family in Sweden, Vivi & Bertil and Roland & Siw. Also predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Connie Lindstedt. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Alma, Jurga, Jurga, Nara and Raimonda and the support of Transitions Hospice staff, Shannon, Lori, Erica, Laci and Dakota and special friends and neighbors, Cindy, Tom & Dustin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
