Obituary

Kathryn L. Soderstrom, 104, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 6, 2023 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron. She was born February 14, 1918 in Shell Lake, WI, the daughter of William and Alice Anderson. Kathryn was the oldest of four children and moved to the Rockford area at the age of 10. She married the love of her life, Wesley B. Soderstrom on April 12, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. Kathryn was a secretary for Rockford Tornado Insurance for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading novels. Kathryn had a knack for knitting afghans, quilting and sewing. She will be deeply missed.

Kathryn is survived by her children, Dave Soderstrom and Mary (Larry) Gregersen; grandsons, Michael Williams and Ryan Williams; great-granddaughter, Hannah Williams; one niece and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wesley; one brother and two sisters.

Kathryn will be laid to rest in Scandinavian Cemetery, 1700 Rural Street, Rockford, IL 61107.
