Obituary

ROCKFORD – Ruby Caroline Leon, age 97, passed away peacefully Sunday August 20, 2023. Born in Rockford on April 30, 1926 to John & Caroline (Pearson) Nelson. She married Louis Eugene Leon in Rockford on March 8, 1947. Ruby enjoyed crossword puzzles and games shows. In her younger years she loved planting flowers, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by daughter, Becky Leon; granddaughters, Karen (Duff) Singer and Kristine (Scott) Byl; great-grandchildren, Sydney & Gianna Singer and Zander & Suzy Byl. She is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Louis Eugene Leon; daughter, Susan; son, Eugene; and brother, Lenny.

Per Ruby's request no services are planned. Private interment at Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials to the family. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
