Obituary

ROCKFORD – Richard Charles Lindquist, age 88, of Rockford passed away peacefully Friday February 25, 2022. Born on August 9, 1933 in Rockford to Andrew George & Elsie Marie Lindquist (Olson). A licensed hot air balloon pilot and enthusiast for over 20 years, Dick enjoyed model railroading and loved competing with his show dogs. He was a devoted and proud member of the South Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Beloved husband, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Nancy Alice Lindquist (Shadley); grandchildren, Sara (Eric) Joseph. Heather (Jim) Schneider, Bethany (David) Sarkissian, Russell (Tiffany) Piccirilli and Rachael (Larry) Vyborny; great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Alyssa, Daniel, Seth and Damon; sister, Karen (Lynn) Halberg; numerous nieces & nephews; and many beloved dogs. He is predeceased by his daughters, Rebecca Lindquist, Wendy Schultz and Shelley Evans; former son-in-law, Scott Davis; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held at a later date. Cremation rites accorded. Interment of cremains at Scandinavian Cemetery. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
