Obituary
Betty M. Haglund, 86, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Born February 6, 1935 in Elgin, the daughter of G.H. and N. Agnes (Nelson) Anderson. Betty was the owner of Creative Yarns in Rockford and also worked as the corporate secretary for Security Building Co. She married Erick A. Haglund August 13, 1955. She was an 80-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She also taught Revelations Bible classes for 20 years and was involved in Christian Women’s Club and a leader of Bible Study Fellowship. She was an avid reader, lover of music, classical pianist and a master knitter. She loved spending time with her family, especially at Lake Geneva.
Survived by her husband, Erick; children, Kurt (Ann) of Bald Head Island, NC, Cheryl Moberg of Rockford, and Karl (Jessica) of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Jon, Brian, Rebekah, Anthony, Kelly, Catharine, Gus, Jay, Nikki, Travis, Elizabeth and Willem; and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter, Christelle Maggio; and grandson, Justin. Special thanks to the staff at OSF St. Anthony for their loving care.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. First St., Rockford, with Rev. Jay Quinn officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 prior to the service. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016 or a charity of your choice.
