Obituary
Thomas J. Sabrowski, 89, passed away on December 23, 2020. Born in Menasha, Wisconsin on October 19, 1931 the son of Herbert and Effie Mae (Bell) Sabrowski. Tom attended St. Stanislaus and St. James Schools, St. Thomas High School three years and graduated from East High School in 1950. He married Janet Eileen Burch on September 11, 1954 in St. James Pro Cathedral by Bishop Emeritus Arthur J. O’Neil, DD in Rockford, Illinois. Tom was a member of St. James since 1943 and was a longtime volunteer for the funeral luncheons. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from July, 1952 thru June, 1954 and was honorably discharged as a corporal in the 8th cavalry regiment, 10th mountain division. He worked at Rockford Drop Forge for 34 years, retiring as a purchasing manager and was a member of the Winnebago County Genealogical Society and the Tinker Swiss Cottage. Tom and his wife Janet enjoyed to travel, going to 15 different countries.
He is survived by those who loved him most, his wife of 66 years, Janet; his daughter Carol Ann Keller; son-in-law Anthony Stulpinas; grandchildren Nichole Keirn and Brian Stulpinas; sisters in law Susan Sabrowski and Mary Ann Burch; his God-Daughter and niece, Barb Eyster as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, cousins and best friend, John “Rip” Jacobs. He was predeceased in death by his parents; his in-laws Edward and Marcia Burch; his daughter Katherine “Kathy” Stulpinas; son in law Eugene Keirn; his siblings Daniel and Mary Sabrowski; brother-in-law Larry Burch; his niece Margaret “Peggy” Sabrowski.
A Funeral Mass will take place for Tom on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N 2nd St, Rockford, IL 61107. Internment at Scandinavian Cemetery where military honors will take place.
