Obituary

Curt Thorell, 69, of Roscoe, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 28, 2023 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Curt was born on September 9, 1953, in Rockford, IL to Roger and Martha Thorell.

Survived by his loving spouse of 48 years, Mary; daughter, Michelle (PJ Deschler) Wallace; son, Christopher (Christina) Thorell; grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle, Carter and Dylan; and sister, Kim Thorell. Predeceased by his parents; and nephew, Daniel Thorell.

Curt loved spending time with his family, bicycling with his wife and daughter, going for motorcycle rides, sport shooting, hanging out on the Florida beach with his son and his family and spending time with his cat, Gabby.

Celebration of life will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Whiffletree Bar & Grill, 11347 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family for a memorial bench at Rock Cut State Park.
