KRISTIN MARIE (SALTZGIVER) SAFRAN, 37 ROCKFORD - Kristin Marie (Saltzgiver) Safran, 37, died tragically Feb. 12, 2009, in Buffalo, N.Y. Kristin was born July 5, 1971, in Rockford, to Gale and Cindi (Ellison) Saltzgiver. On April 7, 2001, she married Russel S. Safran, and to that union Alexandra and Sydney were born. A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Brownsville, Texas, and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, Kristin was a consultant to the bottled water and beverage industry. She was a member of the International Bottled Water Association, serving on the board of directors and several committees. She also served as a volunteer on the McKean County Recycling committee. Kristin was loved by all and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and colleagues. In addition to her husband, Russel, this loving mother is survived by her daughters, Alexandra and Sydney of Bradford, Pa., and Jessica of Brooklyn, Ohio; parents Gale and Cindi Saltzgiver of Cathedral City, Calif.; mother-in-law, Lorraine Safran of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio; brother John and sister-in-law, Carrie Saltzgiver of Plano, Texas; grandfather, Carl Robert Ellison of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; grandmother, Rae Saltzgiver Crull of Rockford; aunts and uncles, Ross and Nancy Ellison, Mary Ann Petersen, Steve and Sarah Skridla, Paul and Jennie Saltzgiver, Mike and Cynthia Carlson; and many cousins. Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in First Lutheran Church, 225 S. Third St., Rockford.
