Obituary

David Glenn Norman, 78, of Brooklyn, IA, passed away Feb. 5, 2023 after a sudden illness. He was born July 22, 1944 in Rockford, IL the son of Elwood Everett and Helen Dorothy (Feltz) Norman. He married Linda Marie Burch in Rockford on November 26, 1966. Together they had three children: Thomas Norman of Victor, IA; Robert Norman of Rockford and Amy (Simeon) Bartz of Rockford. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren (who called him “Pa”).

He is survived by his children; grandchildren, Jacob Norman of Chicago, McCullin Andrews of Redmond, WA, Cameron, Allison, Ian, and Thorin Bartz of Rockford; siblings, Roger (Connie) Norman of Rockford, Michael (Linda) Norman of Leaf River, IL and Irma (Dale) Duhamell of Pocatelo, ID; special family, John Burch of Brooklyn, IA, Nancy (late Dennis) Norman of Rockford, and Sylvia Norman of Oregon, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife; parents; brothers, Everett, Richard, John, Dennis and Brian; sisters, Irene Toth and Dianna Norman.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home, Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 2nd Ave with a visitation from 10:00 to time of service. A burial will take place in Scandinavian Cemetery.
