Obituary

Marshall C. Arne, 91, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born June 9, 1930, in Forest City, IA, the son of Leonard and Alma (Olson) Arne. Graduate of Lake Mills High School, Lake Mills, WI and received his Bachelor degree from University of Iowa. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Marshall married Ella A. “Ellie” Koonmen on May 11, 1957 in Grosse Ile, MI. She predeceased him on December 13, 1997. He began his life as an Iowa farm boy and became a Vice President for Clarcor. He was employed there for the duration of his 40 plus year career, retiring in 1995. Marshall was 100% Norwegian, an avid golfer, and loved to gamble when in Las Vegas. He enjoyed his family, time with grandchildren and loved his dog, Sam.

Survived by his children, Julie Arne Brauer of Rockford, Andrea Arne Holm of Rockford, and Marshall (Nancy) Arne of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Katie, Seth, Lyndsay, Evan, Ella and Sara; and sister, Bonnie Holt of Sebastopol, CA. Also predeceased by his parents; and brother, Nathan Arne. The family would like to thank Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center and ProMedica Hospice for their loving care.
