Obituary

Christine R. Lamb, 93, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Serenity Hospice & Home. Born May 9, 1930, in Magnolia, KY, the daughter of Elmer and Alma Irene (Wheeler) Elkins. Christine married Willard L. Lamb in 1948. They were married for 72 years before his passing on November 23, 2020. She was a member of Calvary Christian Church where she was involved in many church activities. Christine enjoyed cooking, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by her son, Tom (Jan) Lamb; grandchildren, Jason (Tina) Lamb and Wendy (Tim) Iverson; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Drew, Austin, Cade, Lauren and Anika; brother Ruel (Marilyn) Elkins; brother-in-law, Darrell Vance; and special niece, Joanne Henry. Also predeceased by her parents; daughter, Janet Brown; and siblings, Judell, Freedia, Genrose and Elmer Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Calvary Christian Church, 5455 Charles St., Rockford. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
