Obituary

Roger Carl Carlson, 64, of Machesney Park, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Born March 3, 1958, in Rockford, the son of Donald L. and Reva (Graham) Carlson, Sr. Roger was a life-long truck driver. He was an active AA member who was sober for 30 years and a sponsor. Roger was also a member of the National Riffle Association and was a classic car enthusiast; his favorite car was the 66 GTO. He loved camping, Mountain Dew and coffee.

Survived by his father, Donald (Joanne) Carlson, Sr. of Rockford; sister, Terry Carlson of South Carolina; aunt, Luanne Carlson; and cousins, Betsy Cockrum, Ted Cockrum, Randy Cockrum, and Rachel Keown all of Evansville, Dennis Lindquist of Machesney Park, and Doug, David, Steven and Karen Carlson. Predeceased by his son, Michael Nieskes; mother, Reva; brother, Donald Carlson, Jr.; and uncle Bob Carlson. The family would like to thank Promedica Hospice for their loving care.
