Leonard Paul Freedlund (The Grand Poopah) passed away August 1, 2007 at home in Apache Junction, AZ. Leonard was born May 6, 1918 in Sherwood, WI. Son of Clarence and Martha Freedlund. Married Ann Larson September 5, 1953 in Rockford, IL. Served with the U.S. Army Air Transport Command during World War II in India. Member of Masonic Temple 102, Loves Park, IL Member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Apache Junction. Employed by Rockford Products for 38 years. Loved woodworking, carving and Country Western music. Survived by wife, Ann; children: Linda (Hugh) DeGroff, Larry (Sherry) Freedlund, Charlene (Jim) Holmberg and Loren (Pam) Freedlund; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1great, great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Sisters: Irene Lindberg and Doris Long. Predeceased by son, Thomas and 4 brothers. Services will be held Friday, August 3 at 1:30 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1050 W. Superstition Blvd., Apache Junction.
