Obituary

Patricia A. Johnson, 82, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Born July 20, 1944, in St Cloud, MN, Patti was the daughter of Oscar and Edna (Marquardt) Wickberg.

Patti graduated from Harlem High School and went on to work several jobs. She started working for Barber-Colman in 1967, then she went on to work for Sundstrand for several years as an office manager. She continued to work until 2019. While bowling, she met her husband, Greg Johnson, who she married at Grace Lutheran Church 25 years ago. Patti was baptized at First Lutheran Church and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

One of Patti’s greatest joys was gardening, and she also enjoyed relaxing by the fish pond that she and Greg worked on and designed together. She especially loved flowers, especially roses. She was a dedicated worker with a strong work ethic. Her family and friends will always remember her fantastic Christmas parties she hosted, as well as her Swedish meatballs and rice pudding. Above all, she was a loving wife and aunt, and her family will miss her dearly.

Patti is survived by her husband, Greg Johnson; a sister; and a niece and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Scandinavian Cemetery.
