Obituary

Sigrid W. Landquist, 73, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022. Born March 21st, 1948, in Gary, IN, the daughter of Wesley and Ruth (Olson) Waterhouse. Graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1966 and Purdue University in 1971. Sigrid married James Landquist on June 14th, 1969. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Alpha Xi Delta, Mayflower Society and former member of the Rockford Women’s Club. Sigrid loved to write poetry and calligraphy. She recently self-published a poetry book “And I Am As A Cloud” soon to be available. She spent her time reading the Bible and saying her rosary. Sigrid enjoyed golfing, sewing, and cooking. She was a very talented baton twirler performer which earned her 1st runner up for Miss Freeport in 1967. She taught baton twirling for the Stephenson County Steppers.

Survived by her husband, James “Jim”; children, Jeremy Landquist and Pamela (Pete) Saladino of Rockford, IL; cousin Linda (Michael) Youngblood of Lapeer, Michigan. Predeceased by her parents; and sister Karin (Waterhouse) Pohl.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
