Donna Lee Trotter 2021
Donna Lee Trotter, 93, passed away February 21, 2021, in Washington Terrace, UT, where she had been living in memory care since June 2020, having moved from Bethesda, MD.
She was born in Rockford, IL, living there until 2015, when she moved to Bethesda, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Trotter, her daughters, Constance Trotter and Cindy Henneman, her mother, Rhoda Eklund, her father, Morris Eklund, her stepfather, Paul Eklund, her sister, Lovae Wiegner, brother, Frank Eklund, and son-in-law, Rodney Henneman.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla (H. Christopher) Wright, South Ogden, UT, sister, Juanita Gustafson, South Beloit, IL, grandchildren: Kimberly (David) Keto, Oconomowoc, WI, Jennifer (Ian) Lewellin, Janesville, WI, John (Brook) Henneman, Fort Worth, TX, Elizabeth (Ryan) Burton, Bethesda, MD, and Edward (Heather) Wright, Ogden, UT, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Donna graduated from East High School, Rockford, IL, and Moser Secretarial and Business College, Chicago, IL. She and her husband, Tom, owned two businesses, Trotter's Restaurant, on 7th Street, in Rockford, and Trotter's Wholesale Foods, Rockford, IL.
In her later years, she worked at Alpine Bank and Dierks Foods in Rockford.
Donna was a life-long member of Bethesda Covenant Church, Rockford, IL, where she enjoyed many friendships, singing in the choir, and serving.
Donna loved family times and hosting holiday parties in her home, sewing, needlepoint, and knitting afghans for all members of her family. She and Tom enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Wisconsin.
Donna said that God blessed her with a long life, and a loving husband and family.
A celebration of her life will be held in Rockford, IL, this summer, when family members are able to travel again (post Covid), with burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Bethesda Covenant Church, Rockford, IL and Northern Illinois Food Bank
