Jane M. Janssen 1930—2021
Jane M. Janssen, 90, passed away on Feb. 4,2021. Born June 29th, 1930, in Rockford, Il. Jane was the daughter of John and Sigrid (Elfstrom) Brodin. She graduated from East High School in 1948 and then moved to Denver, Co. in 1952 where she met her husband of 67 years. Don and Jane were married on Feb. 20, 1954 in Rockford, Il. They resided in Colorado and Missouri while Don was in the Air Force, then moved back to Rockford from Denver after the birth of their first son in 1956. Jane always felt she had found her true career as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Jane served at Zion Lutheran Church in Sunday School and as a greeter. Her hobbies included sewing, embroidery, collecting figurines, and reading. She also loved her visits to Myrtle Beach. Jane is survived by her husband, Don; sons, Robert, David (Ruthie), and Brian (Susan); grandsons, Johnathon (Bethany), Luke (Chamara), Noah (Emily), Caleb, and Patrick Ryan. She also has 5 great grandchildren; sister Joan Coniglio; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Kim, Amy, Angel, and all the others from Heartland Hospice who assisted us.
