Obituary

ROCKFORD – Judy Carol Struven, age 83, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Thursday August 24, 2023. Born in Rockford on April 28, 1940 to Merle Ren & Stella Irene Keena (Peterson). Judy was a very caring and giving person, never expecting anything in return. She loved doing anything that included the family and especially enjoyed the yearly Vegas Trip with Paul and her children. She truly loved crafting for over forty plus years, there was nothing she couldn't make. From floral arrangements to cakes to painting, one look and she would master it. She and Paul built a two car garage with a 2nd floor studio dedicated entirely to her crafting studio, filled with enough supplies to cover a football field! Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great & great great-grandmother and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul V. Struven; children, Julie (Donald) Saunders and Jerry (Anna) Struven; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Keena. She is predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Struven; sister, Sandra (Howard) Bellars; and her parents, Merle Ren & Stella Irene Keena;

Services are Private. Interment at Scandinavian Cemetery. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northern IL Hospice.
