Obituary

MARIAN V. WICKLUND, 92 ROCKFORD - Marian V. Wicklund, 92, of Rockford, died February 22, 2015, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born August 28, 1922, in Rochelle, the daughter of August and Elsie (Cronk) Rewerts. Marian graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1940, and married Elroy L. Wicklund in 1942. He predeceased her in 1999. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church where she was involved in Kings Daughter's Sunday School Class, the Helen Circle and WMS, the Ladies Ministry. She was also a member of the Cherry Valley Pacers. Marian is survived by her children, Dennis (Carol) of Stillman Valley, David (Mara) of Belvidere, Joyce (John) Johnsen of Rockton, and Janet (Jim) Easton of Rockton; grandchildren, Denise (Dan) Sass, Cynthia (Gary) Alexander, Gregory (Nancy) Wicklund, Todd (Rachael) Reese, Christopher (Kristin) Reese, Melissa (John) Hogan, Carrie (Jon) Priest, Jeffrey (Laura) Easton, Julie (Ryan) Winebaugh, John (fiancée, Rebecca O'Malley) Easton, Sarah (Michael Wright) Wicklund, Rachel Wicklund, and Meredith Wicklund; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Gentry and brothers, Charles and Robert Rewerts. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, in First Free Church, 2223 N Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107, with Pastor Chuck Rife officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
