Obituary

Christene F. Lundquist, 88, of Winnebago, Illinois died Saturday, October 4, 2014 in Medina Nursing Home in Durand. Born in Portia, Arkansas on April 3, 1926 to Thomas and Ida (Melton) Goodman. Attended Arkansas State Teachers College and taught in country schools before coming to Rockford in 1950. She married Milton A. Lundquist, Jr. on January 4, 1952. She was a homemaker and had many talents including sewing, knitting, crocheting and music. She was a member of Open Bible Center where she taught children's church for many years.

Survived by her husband, Milton; children, James "Rob" (Vicki) Lundquist, Teresa (Travis) Jones, Vernon (Melody) Lundquist; grandchildren, Jeremy (Roxanne) Jones, Sam Lundquist, Max Lundquist; sister, Betty Tretenburg; niece, Pat (Terry) Williams, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brother-in-law, Joe Tretenburg; nephew, Dale Tretenburg; sister, Ida Hathcock.

Service to celebrate Christene's life will be at 10:30am on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford Road, Loves Park with Pastor Don Lyon of Faith Center officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30pm to 8:00pm Wednesday night in the funeral home. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
