Obituary

Dorothy E. Kreissler, 65, of Rockford, died at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, in her home following a year-long illness with cancer. Born Dec. 7, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Robert H. and Frances M. (Howe) Eidsvold Sr. Graduated from Edina High School, Edina, Minn. and Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri. She attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Dorothy married Ralph Kreissler, Dec. 27, 1961. Dorothy was office manager and part-owner with Ralph of Forest City Machine Works, HMC Products, and D-R Autochuck. Former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 27 years, where she was member of the Altar Guild. Current member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, and previously served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Board of Directors for The Haven Network. Dorothy was a loving, devoted, and dedicated mother to four children and fun-loving grandmother of ten. She was cherished and loved by many friends. Survived by her husband, Ralph Kreissler of Rockford; children, Mark (Kenna) Kreissler of Savage, Minn., Lisa (Allen) Derheim of Sammamish, Wash., David (Linda) Kreissler of Rockford, and Todd (Anna) Kreissler of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; grandchildren, Erik, Blake, Gabriella, Nicholas, Grace, Jack, Charlotte, and Ava Kreissler, and Katherine and Lauren Derheim; and siblings, Robert H. (Jean) Eidsvold Jr. of Edina, Minn., and Barbara (Henry) Fischer of Pine City, Minn. Predeceased by parents and sister, Judith Ann. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2001 N. Alpine Rd., with Rev. Kenneth Krause officiating. Private burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in Olson Funeral - Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. and from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the church.
