Obituary

William J. Dolan of Rockford passed away Thursday March 31, 2011 in River Bluff. He was born December 28, 1928 in Rhinelander, WI. The son of Louis A. and Olga Eik Dolan. He married Joanne Raisbeck Pattison in Pecatonica on March 6, 1999. He was a teacher at East High School, teaching English, speech and theatre, retiring in 1989. He served in the US Army. He served on the Rockford Public Library Board, Winnebago County Fair Board and past president of the REA. He attended schools in Tomahawk and Brokaw, WI and graduated from Pecatonica High School. He received both his Bachelors and Masters Degree from NIU.Survivors include his Wife Joanne, Four Children, Kathleen (Tom) Cunningham of California, Carolyn (Curt) Gauen of Indiana, Sara (Nobel) Olson of Rockford, William James III(Wendy) of Rockford. Step-children, Daniel (Carol) Pattison of Machesney Park, Robert Pattison of Rockford, Susanne (Brad) Emrud of Roscoe, Michael (Denise) Pattison of Belvidere, Donald Pattison of Loves Park and Patrick Pattison of Rockford. 22 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren Sisters, Marna (Les) Lovett of Winnebago, Sally Goodwill of Maine, Mary Dolan of California and Doris (Ed) Delaporte of Winnebago. Sisters-in-law, Carole Dolan and Carol Dolan. Numerous nieces and nephews Predeceased by his parents and brothers Lou and Benjamin.Memorial service will be at 11am Tuesday April 5, 2011 in Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd., Rkfd . Private burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 10am until service time in the church. In lieu of flowers Memorials to be established by the family.
