MARION L. OLSON, 85 Devoted wife, mother and grandmother ROCKFORD - Marion L. Olson, 85, of Rockford died at 4:43 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born March 1, 1926, in Rockford, daughter of Clarence E. and Signie (Johnson) Anderson. She married Roger E. Olson on Oct. 2, 1948, in Rockford. Marion was a member of First Evangelical Covenant Church, where she attended Arlene's Circle. She was a volunteer at SwedishAmerican Hospital for 25 years and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed solving word puzzles and ceramics, making more than 100 pieces. She is survived by husband of 63 years, Roger; children, Dr. Gary R. Olson of Chicago and Nancy (Thomas) Sharp of Wilmette; grandchildren, Courtney, Madeline and Andrew Sharp; and brothers, Mauritz (Shirley) Anderson and Richard (Donna) Anderson, all of Rockford. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in First Evangelical Covenant Church, 316 Wood Road, with Pastor Peter Dibley officiating. Private burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
