MAYNARD CARLSON OBITUARY
Maynard C. Carlson, 88, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born August 20, 1933, in Rockford, the son of Arvid and Josephine (Peterson) Carlson. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. Maynard married Barbara A. "Barb" Carlson on September 26, 1959. He worked for over 40 years at Barber Colman. Maynard was a member of Broadway Covenant Church. He enjoyed working in the yard on his John Deere tractor. Maynard most of all loved his family. His wife of 62 years was always by his side. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was kind, selfless, generous man who treasured his wife and family over any material thing. He was honest, loyal, and excelled at everything that mattered eternally. His faith was in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Maynard's family looks forward to being reunited with him.
Survived by his wife, Barb; children, Tim (Marcy) Carlson of Monroe Center, David (Heidi) Carlson of Loves Park, and Lorie Carlson of Rockford; grandchildren, Micah, Jonah, Emma and Kaleb; brothers, Mike Carlson and Ronald (Mary) Carlson; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Broadway Covenant Church, 3525 Broadway, Rockford with Pastor Mike Mirakian officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Broadway Covenant Church. To share a memory or condolence, visit olsonfh.com
