Obituary
Richard Leach, 73, of Roscoe, IL, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on May 3, 2023, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Rockford in 1949 to the late Edward and Ada Leach. In 1970, he married Cheryl Hansen, and together they raised three daughters.
Rick served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a longtime member of CityFirst Church. He was an avid Bears fan and loved muscle cars, especially all things Mopar. Listening to oldies and The Gaithers brought him joy. Rick was a hard worker, always busy with a project. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was always there for his family.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cheri; daughters, Christi (Ken) LaFontaine, Julie (John) Loven, and Amy (Chris) Seymour; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Logan, Maddi, Caitlin (Christian), Mackenzie, Allie, Luke, and Jack; two brothers, Ed and Tom (Mary) Leach; and several nieces and nephews.
