Allan Kershner Obituary
Allan E. Kershner, age 78, of Rockford, Illinois, died on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 19th, 1946, in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Lavenia (Daughabaugh) Kershner. He spent his youth growing up in Boaz, Wisconsin. Allan served in the United States Navy from September 1963 to May 1964, and he was honorably discharged. On February 12th, 1966, he was joined in marriage to Linda McBain. Allan passed away 11 days short of their 59th anniversary. Linda was the love of his life. He loved his wife and family.

Al worked at Camcar for 38 years, and continued working as a bus driver for the next 8 years.

Al loved to play softball, golf, and bowling with his friends. He enjoyed watching sports and cheering on the Packers, White Sox, and Illini. He was the world’s greatest White Sox and Green Bay Packers fan.

Al enjoyed spending time talking, laughing, and playing cards with family and friends.

Al looked forward to having breakfast with his buddies.

He loved going to watch Haley, and Marissa play basketball throughout high school and college.

Troy (Ann Marie) Kershner.

Todd (Vicki) Kershner.

Granddaughters: Haley Kershner and Marissa (Kyle Sanders) Kershner.

Sisters: Lynda (Robert) Goad, Kenda (Daniel) Fish, Vickie (John) Wangen

Brother: Gregory Kershner

Many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 8th, 2025, time 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 North 2nd Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61107.

Friends may visit Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61107, on Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church.

Burial will be immediately following the service in Scandinavian Cemetery, 1700 Rural Street (please use the entrance on Guilford Road).

The Kershner family would like to thank his pulmonologist, Dr. Bopanna, for his dedicated work with Allan.
