Obituary
The Lord took Willard E. Anderson, 88, of Rockford, to Heaven, peacefully, while he slept, the morning of Friday, March 6, 2009, in his residence at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born July 17, 1920, in Jeffris, Wis.; the son of Andrew and Anna (Carlson) Anderson. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Willard married Eleanor (West) Binnquist Dec. 27, 1996. He was an aircraft mechanic for United Airlines for 21 years. Former member of Park Falls Covenant Church and Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church. He thanked the Lord daily, for the salvation he knew was his when, as a teen, he trusted in Christ"s death on the cross. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; stepchildren, Bruce (Cathy) Binnquist, Richard Binnquist, Barbara (Kirk) Wallace, and Elaine (Terry) Valmassoi; step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Predeceased by his first wife, Betty (Wickert) Anderson; brothers, Herb and Carl Anderson; and sister, Alice Grosbier. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center Chapel, 3470 N. Alpine Rd.
