GLEN C. NIFFENEGGER, 83 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND BROTHER LOVES PARK- Glen C. Niffenegger, 83, of Loves Park passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in his home with family by his side. Born Feb. 19, 1926, in Monroe, Wis., the son of Roy and Charlotte Trickle Niffenegger. Married Mary Jane Kramer on May 1, 1948, in Loves Park. Retired from Woodward Governor after 42 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and as treasurer for several years. An avid golfer holding the course record at Macktown Golf Course. Glen enjoyed all sports, but mostly he loved cheering for his grandchildren at their sporting events. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; children, Robert Brenda Niffenegger of Rockford, Donald Francie Niffenegger of Cherry Valley, Julia Stephen Ortland of Loves Park, Barbara Denis Funk of Rockford and Kimberly Fred Hasse of Rockton; grandchildren, Courtney, Blake, Breanne, Alex, Reed, Eric, Drew, Joseph and Tina; brother, Harris Niffenegger; sisters, Florence Tarpley, Betty Roger Greenlee and Beverly Crain; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, four brothers and a sister. Service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Grace Lutheran Church; the Rev. Brent Dahlseng will officiate. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church.
