MARY JANE NIFFENEGGER, 87 loving wife, mother and grandmother LOVES PARK - Mary Jane Niffenegger, 87, of Loves Park passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. Born July 10, 1927, in Rockford, daughter of Elmer and Julia (Johnson) Kramer. Graduated from Harlem High School in 1945. Married the love of her life, Glen C. Niffenegger in Loves Park, May 1, 1948. He predeceased her in 2009. Mary was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she volunteered in the church Circles and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Harlemites and an Election Judge in Loves Park for several years. An avid golfer playing in the Sinnissippi and Ingersoll Golf Leagues. Mary loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, musical performances and other events whenever she was able. Survivors include her children, Robert Niffenegger of Rockford, Donald (Francie) Niffenegger of Cherry Valley, Julia (Stephen) Ortland of Rockford, Barbara (Denis) Funk of Rockford and Kimberly (Fred) Hasse of Rockton; grandchildren, Courtney, Blake, Breanne (Andrew) Harper, Alex, Reed, Eric, Drew and Tina (Donald) Armstrong; and her caregiver, Lena. Predeceased also by her parents; grandson, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Brenda; and brother, Robert Kramer. Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Ave, Loves Park, with visitation from 9 a.m. to time of service. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
