Obituary

Helen Joyce Spiering, 86, of Rockford passed away on December 8th, 2022. She was born April 28, 1936. Helen worked as a grocery manager at the IGA on Broadway in Rockford and the Shop and Save in Loves Park. She married her husband, Gene Spiering in January in 1990. He passed away in August of 1998. Helen loved to read, watch movies, play the lottery, and be a part of the stock club. She also loved her cats.
Survived by her children, Jaime (Brian) Gill, Steven (Robin) Burt, Susan Kenowski, and Valerie (Michael) Smith; grandchildren, Brock, Ryan, Taylor (Destiny), and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, Gialana, Rhilynn, Jeremy, Isaac, and Jasmine. Predeceased by her husband, Gene Spiering and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial of ashes will be at Scandinavian Cemetery.
