Eleanor Anderson

Rockford - Eleanor B. Anderson, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Al and Edith N. (Hogfeldt) West. She is a graduate of VonStruben High School, Class of 1947.

As a young woman, Eleanor learned the design and jewelry business at Moheiser's Department Store in Park Ridge, IL and went on to do sales and management for 24 years at Erickson Jeweler's in Chicago. Her career continued at Neufeld Jeweler's in Glendora, Ca, and then at Bullocks in West Covina, CA, until retirement in 1990. She continued to use her vast experience and skill for several years in the Fairhaven Gift Shop.

Eleanor attended First Evangelical Free Church where she was a part of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Helen Circle. She was a former active member of Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church and North Side Gospel Center in Chicago.

She is lovingly survived by step children, Richard Binnquist, Barbara Wallace and Elaine Valmassoi; step grandchildren, Bruce Binnquist, Paul Binnquist, Lauren Binnquist, Ashley Binnquist, Robert Valmassoi, James Valmassoi, Erick Wallace, Brian Wallace and Kelli Coltman; twelve step great-grandchildren; nieces Cari Brown, Linnea McAndrews, Anita Johnson, Judy (John) Stahl, step-niece Nancy Milner and step-nephew Gary Anderson; sister-in-law Margot Burgh and many loving and special friends.

Eleanor is predeceased by her parents, her brother Leonard West, sister Dorothy Stahl, nephew John M. Stahl, first husband Robert L. Binnquist and second husband Willard Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Free Rockford, 2223 N. Mulford Rd. Private burial in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford, IL. Memorials may be made to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61114.
