**Obituario de Heriberto Medrano Gamboa**

Heriberto Medrano Gamboa, amado esposo, padre, abuelo y amigo, falleció pacíficamente el 5 de septiembre de 2026, poco antes de cumplir 90 años. Nació el 17 de septiembre de 1936, hijo de Juan Medrano Rodríguez y Ana María Medrano Gamboa.

Heriberto fue un hombre profundamente dedicado a su familia; junto a su querida esposa, Emilia, trajo a sus ocho hijos a los Estados Unidos y les inculcó los valores del trabajo duro y la perseverancia. Su legado perdura a través de sus hijas Elia García, Ofelia Valerio, Teresa Segoviano y Guadalupe Martínez, y sus hijos Félix, Reimundo, Nicolás y Eduardo Medrano. También deja yernos, nueras, nietos, nietas, bisnietos y tataranietos que llevarán su espíritu en sus corazones.

Como hábil jardinero y pintor, Heriberto encontraba alegría tanto en el cuidado de las plantas como en el de su familia. Era un ávido lector de la Biblia y le encantaba resolver rompecabezas. Junto a Emilia, compartía su cultura elaborando y vendiendo deliciosos tamales mexicanos, mostrando bondad hacia los necesitados al ofrecer crédito a quienes no podían pagarlos. Su generosidad y sus dotes culinarias lo convirtieron en una figura muy querida en su comunidad.

A Heriberto le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Juan Medrano y Anita Gamboa, así como sus hermanos Matilde y Cresencio Medrano, y su hermana Sabina Medrano.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio en la funeraria Sundberg Funeral Home (215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois 61107) el jueves 10 de septiembre de 2026, de 9:30 a. m. a 1:30 p. m., seguido del sepelio en el cementerio Scandinavian Cemetery. Las condolencias pueden expresarse en sundbergfh.com.

Heriberto Medrano Gamboa, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, just shy of his 90th birthday. He was born on September 17, 1936, to Juan Medrano Rodriguez and Ana María Medrano Gamboa.

Heriberto was a devoted family man who, alongside his cherished wife, Emilia, brought their eight children to the United States and instilled in them the values of hard work and perseverance. His legacy lives on through his daughters Elia Garcia, Ofelia Valerio, Teresa Segoviano, and Guadalupe Martinez, and his sons Felix, Reimundo, Nicolas, and Eduardo Medrano. He also leaves behind sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will carry his spirit in their hearts.

A skilled gardener and painter, Heriberto found joy in nurturing both plants and family. He was an avid Bible reader and loved solving puzzles. Together with Emilia, he shared his culture by making and selling delicious Mexican tamales, extending kindness to those in need by offering credit to those who couldn't afford them. His generosity and culinary skills made him a cherished figure in his community.

Heriberto is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Medrano and Anita Gamboa, and his siblings: brothers Matilde and Cresencio Medrano, and sister Sabina Medrano.

There will be a visitation at Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 North Sixth Street, Rockford, Illinois 61107, on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by the burial at Scandinavian Cemetery. Condolences can be made at sundbergfh.com
