Obituary
Mary Lou Rydstrom, 93, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born June 2, 1928, in Rockford, the daughter of Harry and Murrell (Anderson) Englund. Past member of Bethesda Covenant Church and a graduate of East High School, Class of 1946.
Mary Lou attended Swedish American Nurses Training for a short period. She worked for JL Clark's, Rockford School District, Brookside Clinic, Stockholm Inn and Rockford Park District.
Mary Lou was a member of the Swedish Historical Society and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls. She was in her glory attending the Cub's World Series in 2016 sitting in the bleachers. Her father was a charter member of the Chicago Bears 1920-1923.
Survived by her sons, David Abramson of Chester Springs, PA, Charles (Diane) Abramson of Rockford, IL, and Daniel Abramson & Dawn Rhein of Rockford, IL.; grandchildren; Lyndsey (John) Stulp, Michael (Stefanie) Abramson, Brooke (Mike) Peterson, Kyla (Dustin) Brown, Mackenzie and Mason Ray; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Cooper & Eli Stulp, Sophie & William Peterson, Evelyn Abramson and Taitum Cates, Benjamin Brown. Predeceased by parents; and daughter Michelle A. (Bill) Ray of S. Beloit, IL. The family wishes to acknowledge Mom's special daughters in law along with family support from Mary, Georgia, Sheila and her lifelong friends Gloria, Virginia, and Ina. A very special thanks to the staff at Heritage Woods Rockford for their kind devotion to her comfort and well-being.
