Obituary

Audrey D. Conant, 94, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Born August 24, 1927, in Dundee, IA, the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Dodge) Schreiber. Graduate of Rochelle Township High School, Class of 1944. Audrey married Roger Carlstrom. He predeceased her on July 10, 1964 leaving her to raise her three young daughters at the age of 36. Later she married Curtis Conant. He predeceased her on September 17, 2009. Audrey enjoyed making her daughter’s clothes when they were young, and making quilts even in her 90’s. She worked for Sundstrand as a distribution clerk before retiring in 1984. Audrey was a member of Bethesda Covenant Church. She has a Yorkie, Ziggy who brought her great joy. Survived by her children, Larry (Judy) Conant, Pamela Hemenway, Penny (Dan) Blascoe and Tara (Chris) Martin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, LaVonne Tripp; and several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her brother, James Schreiber; and son-in-law, Steve Hemenway. The family would like to thank OSF Hospice and Alden Debes nurses for their special care given to their mother.
