Obituary

ancy L. Porter, 78, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Born February 10, 1948, in Racine, WI, the daughter of Phillip and Virginia (Nichols) Erlandson. Nancy married Mark S. Porter on March 19, 1977. He predeceased her on August 21, 2020. After almost six years she is now re-united with her Marky. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Nancy had a unique and quirky sense of humor, enjoyed listening to music, taking care of her lawn, and loved animals. Most of all she was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Survived by her children, Vikki (Jeremy) Weeden, Arthur (Jane) Ainsworth, Kimberly (Russell Bachmann) Nicholls, and Timothy (DJ) Porter; nine grandchildren, Joseph (Audra), Arthur, Alexis, Dakota (Sara), Abigail (Austin), Daniel (Brit), Levi, Ian (Emma), and Seth; many great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Tom) Bonacorsi; beloved and wild dog, Sarge; and many wonderful and amazing friends. Also predeceased by her parents; and grandmother, Ella Nichols.

The family would like to give a special thanks to family friend Corinne for completing Nancy's story.
