Obituary

Mark S. Porter, 69, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 in his home. Born April 22, 1951, in Rockford, the son of Sidney G. and Ruth Evelyn (Carlson) Porter. Mark married Nancy L. Erlandson on March 19, 1977 in Belvidere, IL. He worked at Rockford Clutch and Target Gear. Mark was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was Property Manager and Elder. He was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Vikki (Jeremy) Weeden, Timothy (Deborah Jean) Porter, Arthur (Jane Marsh) Ainsworth and Kimberly Nicholls; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and brother, Peter Porter. Predeceased by his parents.

Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102.
