Obituary

Barbara Berman, 89, of Rockford Illinois, passed away on April 14th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Barb was born in Freeport Illinois on February 24th, 1935.

Barb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family, as well as volunteering for numerous nonprofit organizations in Rockford Illinois. Over her many years of volunteerism, Barb received several awards, including The Rockford Chamber Commerce Citizen of the year in 2010. She was a true blessing, mentor, and inspiration to not only her family, but the entire Rockford community.

Barb is survived by her loving husband, Richard Berman. Her children: Diane Fitzgerald (Kevin), Greg Erdmier (Marion), Brad Erdmier (Terri). Her legacy includes 13 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister: Carol Gibson, sisters-in-law: June Erdmier, Dawn Olson, Kaye Hughes (James), and Cindy Hughes, brother-in-law: David Berman (Susan), and daughter in law: Barb Erdmier. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Jeffery Erdmier, her parents Herb & Ruth Stimpert, and siblings Toni Meyers & Bill Stimpert.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 11th from 10:30am-1pm at The Rockford Country Club. We are asking guests to dress in bright colors to honor Barb. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Ethnic Heritage Museum. http://www.ethnicheritagemuseum.org/barbberman
