Bettie Roos Olson, 95, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. She was born on September 11, 1924 in Rockford, the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Johnson) Roos. She graduated from East High School and attended Augustana College. She married Lawrence Olson from Boston, Massachusetts on February 9, 1946. They moved with his job from Rockford to Arlington Heights, to Walnut Creek, California, then to Houston, Texas where Mr. Olson passed away in 1971. Bettie returned to California until 2004 when she came back to Rockford. Bettie had busy fingers, always knitting! She donated those knitted items to the Pregnancy Care Center, SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center, Salvation Army, Swedish Historical Society, and Rescue Mission. Also, Bettie loved dogs and Noah’s Ark was always in her heart.

Survived by her children, Polly Olson and Mary Barb Olson, both of Rockford; brother, Don Roos of Colorado; sister-in-law, Shirley Roos of Rockford and Elaine Lestor of Rock Island; plus several nieces and nephews. Also, predeceased by her brother, Perry Roos of Rockford; and her infant sister, Polly.
