Obituary
Richard "Rick" Harry Viren, 50, of Rockford died peacefully on May 6, 2017, after a lengthy battle with liver disease. Born March 29, 1967, son of Anthony and Virginia Viren. Rick graduated from Harlem High School and was the manager and partner of One Stop Pharmacy, He played in several regional rock bands, including Blitzkrieg, Midnight Angel, and Smack Street. Rick often worked as a stagehand and technician for local music, sporting, and theatrical venues.
Rick leaves to cherish many loving memories, his parents; his sweetheart, Ronda Hughes; two brothers, Shannon and Mitchel (Holly) Viren; sister, Colleen (Andy) Wade; three nieces, Lily, Ellie, and Ruby Wade; and nephew, Harrison Viren, all from the surrounding area. Rick is predeceased by his grandparents, Harry and Myrtle Viren from Hales Corners, WI; and Walter and June Zinke from Mendota, IL.
The family wishes to thank Serenity Hospice and the staff of the Villa at PA Peterson for their compassionate care.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
